Lobby Installations
Latent Light
Terrence Campagna & Nicole MacDonald
A sound sculpture to be sat in, which encompasses interests in photography, social and interactive sculpture. This work considers all the people connected to our lives--some intimately others less so--that serve as and become different kinds of light to us.
Bottoms Up!
An installation of words in the women's restroom. Looking and seeing are not the same thing. Do you really see what you look at? Do you really look at what you see? Are you really seen when others look at you? Our mistakes will always eventually come to light.
Lux Aeterni
This sound sculpture in the small lobby draws its inspiration from several of the world's leading televangelists, and features "Static Language" portraits (samples of speech with the words removed) of these figures(Jim and Tammy Baker, Jerry Falwell, etc.) which are mixed together in the LRS "Ecstatic Language Engine" to create a new kind of speech organism.
Dual Observation Cabinets
Two handsome wooden cabinets and two video illusions, installed in the small lobby.
Wrapped Around the Screw
A 16mm film loop installation in the main lobby featuring a group of whiskey bottles containing postcard size rear projection screens. Flickering in the bottles, like remnants of tall tales, is a ghostly fleet of Navy ships steaming home through a fierce gale.
Anyone Anywhere Anytime
A prototype of an exhibit for an upcoming exhibition about the science, history, and philosophy of Telecommunication.
