MARTINE SCHWARTZ is a fourth year industrial design major with a concentration in psychology at the University of Michigan. Her family is originally from South Africa, where she studied design last year. She enjoys camping, jewelery making and reading. Her current interest in the art and design field is creating organic, handmade objects via methods that include digital images.

Martine chose to explore how light, specifically sunlight, changes natural settings appear throughout a day. Each lamp-shade is representative of a different time of the day; through the early morning, afternoon, to night-time. The main intention was to create a tension between sunlight, nature and the completely non-organic looking digital imagery.
